Estoy Cerca

Well it seems like it has been a long time since anything has really happened with Peace Corps and myself, but actually a lot has progressed and I am still hoping to leave sometime in the summer.

My main priorities for the past few months have been getting my physical and dental exams turned in and other than that waiting for them to clear me and move me on into the office of placement in DC. I just got a letter saying that I have been cleared and now all I need to do is continue to wait. I have talked to other volunteers and returned volunteers who have told me that this is the "hardest" part about the application process. I have not really experienced that for myself because I still need to pay off a few things before I can leave, and I am also trying to soak up the incredible things that we take for granted here before I see myself in front of a very real and different world.

I hope that the next time I write it will be about the country and city that I am going to be living in for 2 years. All I know right now is that I will be teaching English as a second language in Latin America, but I cannot wait to share all the adventures with you.
